Date: Friday, July 9, 2021
Location: McCormick Woods Golf Course

For it’s 15th year at McCormick Woods, the WSSHE SW Chapter Golf Tournament has grown from a small gathering of industry pals to a full-blown fundraiser that creates as much as it gives

The proceeds from this tournament builds our general funds for the SW Chapter, which supports the Outreach Program, the baseball game, and other networking events throughout the year.

Tournament Schedule

7:00 AM – 8:00 AM: Sponsor Onsite
8:30 AM – 9:15 AM: Golfer Check-In
9:30 AM: Welcome Remarks
10:00 AM: Shotgun Start
3:30 PM – 5:30 PM: Awards Cocktail Party

Style of Play

Play will commence in a scramble format after a shotgun start at 10:00 AM. Two foursomes will be stationed at each tee, one proceeding the other.

Each member of a team hits their ball throughout the match. Team captains choose the best shot from the first stroke and use the same spot for each player.

To increase speed of play, there is a 2-stroke limit on putts. Also there will be a hard stop at 3:30 PM for all foursomes remaining in play.

Play McCormick Woods

.Built in 1986 by architect Jack Frei in accordance with the Audubon Society to optimize its serene location, McCormick Woods Golf Club is one of Washington’s premier public golf experiences. The course features natural lakes hidden amongst towering firs and cedars.

With five tee placements at each hole, players of every level can enjoy this championship public course in Port Orchard.

Updates to the Tournament Committee:

It is will highest gratitude and thundering applause that we celebrate out-going golf chair and tournament founder Jose Diaz of Auburn Mechanical. Without Jose’s leadership and creativity, the Southwest Chapter would be at a tremendous loss and would not be the fun, active, and growing chapter we are today.
To focus specifically on the Education Expo and increasing our chapter’s membership in rural communities, Jose is passing the reigns to Deanna Dargan of Colvos Construction. With 20 years of marketing and event planning under her belt, Deanna is no stranger to our organization’s events and is an allied representative to the Chapter Board. Deanna will work directly with the golf course and WSSHE Executive Director Fawn Wilson to coordinate logistics, scheduling, and banquet facilitation in order to deliver a successful tournament for everyone involved. Also joining tournament leadership is Robert France of ServePro Puyallup/Sumner and also an allied representative to the Board. Robert will oversee sponsorship sales and stewardship. Got a sponsorship registration question? Feel free to reach out to Robert or Fawn now.
