State Board of Directors

President’s Message

Dear WSSHE Family (Past, Present, & Future),

It is with honor and appreciation to serve as your State President in 2022. I’m honored to serve with you, and I appreciate everything you have done for me, not only professionally, but personally as well. We’ve been riding a big wave these past couple years. Some have fallen from their board, some have managed to stay on it, and others will soon join us on our healthcare journey!

Past – I’d like to give a shout out to those who have paved the way since 1973. The foundation that you have laid out before us has shown the importance of what we do, why we do it, and how it impacts our healthcare communities. Your dedication and service with WSSHE continues to be a positive example to what we strive for today.

Present – Here we are, staring at 2022 with a whole lot of excitement, partnered with caution and concern. Which button do we push? Pause. FF. RWD. Each one can be a valuable choice. We have learned a great deal with all of them. To begin this year, we are pushing PLAY. Although the thumb hovers over the Pause button, we plan to use it only if necessary. What you already know is worth repeating, so I will: Your Chapter and State Boards have the experience, intelligence, dedication, heart, and drive to make the best choices para la familia.

Future – We’re going and growing! Reach out to your local chapter and join us for some great education, networking, and fun! Technology has given us new opportunities for reaching more of you. I’m excited to see so much on the calendar already and coming down the pike in 2022 and beyond.

Thanks for letting me wade in the water for a bit before throwing me a wetsuit and longboard. Thanks for the opportunity to catch these epic waves with you. Thank you for showing me how to be part of the family. And thank you for being there for me these past few years!
